Paris Nov 2015
A series of photographs taken in November 2015 during my residency at the Institute Suedoise. It happened to be at the same time of the terrorist incidents.
My stay started full of energy, joy and with a lot of sun, it was a warm, summery beginning of November. That changed drastically in the evening of the 13/11, the day after I could really sense the sadness and the scariness in the city. I continued anyway to discover the streets, it was more quiet and my lust for taking pictures was low. But it was nice to see how people were continuing going out to their cafes, to the market and so on; they knew very well how important it is to not lock yourself in fear.
I love Paris, for its history, art and culture; it really is a symbol for freedom of speech and self-expression.
Those photographs are the result of what I saw and experienced during the month of November. This series is a homage for Paris, for me a magic city and a document of the tragic events.
Peace to all the victims and long life to Paris.
